Iceland and Germany opened the main round in Koprivnica with Germany fighting for two important points which would open the semifinal doors. As the match started, first four minutes passed for both teams without goals. Iceland was the first to shake the net for a minimal lead. In the middle of the fist half the Germans managed to stop the opponents defence and take the advantage, leaving Iceland with -6 (9:15) on the halftime.
In the second half, the German team continued with the domination making a high +13 (31:18) advantage eight minutes before the end of the match. In the last minutes they increased the advantage and finished the encounter with +15 (35:20).
